Natasha Theil is a singer about to embark on her masters in opera singing at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar. She has performed globally from Europe to the concert halls of Shanghai and Beijing. Her most recent career highlights are playing Fiordiligi from Mozart’s ‘Così fan tutte’ at the

Oxenfoord International Summer School and performing Mozart’s C Minor Mass as the Soprano 2 soloist at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester.

Born in Hong Kong in 2001, Natasha Theil is half Scottish and half German but grew up in Shanghai, China. She was inspired by having the opportunity to attend summer programmes singing with the Vienna Boys’ Choir, and the Sing Mit Chorfestival in Stephansdom, Vienna, conducted by musical director Gerald Wirth from 2012-2016. In 2016 she also sang in Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana at the Poly Grand Theatre in Shanghai, conducted by Christian von Gehren. These and many other experiences confirmed that singing was her greatest passion and her future.

Natasha has just finished her undergraduate in vocal studies and opera at the RNCM with Principal Study Tutor Eiddwen Harrhy. She is moving on to continue her studied in Weimar and is excited for all of the new opportunities that Germany will bring. She is currently singing a wide range of repertoire from composers such as Handel, Mozart, Strauss, Weber, Schumann, Schubert and Debussy. Her favorite languages to sing in are German, Chinese, and Italian because of her German heritage, the fact that she grew up in China, and her profound interest in the Italian language and culture.

Natasha wants to develop further with engagements singing solo roles in oratorios and operas.
